Interweave Workshop: Bob DeCarli Oct 10 2022
Interleave Quilts
Interleave quilts are the quilting worlds version of an optical illusion. You start with two designs, pieced, appliqued, picture on fabric. You layer the designs and cut thin strips which you sew back together in alternating fashion: strip from bottom design, strip from the top design, strip from the bottom, strip from the top, until you have no more strips. The result of this process is a complex-looking quilt that can be pieced quickly from thin strips sewn in straight lines. This creates a complex design as if you were seeing two images through venetian blinds.
Interleave Quilts Workshop
In this workshop, you will make a small piece, about 18" square which can be used as a wall hanging or placemat, but can also be combined into a larger piece by sewing several together.
