October 9, 2017 - Janella Macbeth - ScrapStashtic Quilts: Organizing Your Scrap Fabric Stash and ACTUALLY Using It
​      Janella Macbeth, quilter and author of ScrapStashtic Quilts: Organizing Your Scrap Fabric Stash and ACTUALLY Using It, will be our guest speaker October 9th.  She enjoys hand, machine and paper piecing, applique, hand and machine quilting. She looked for ways to streamline the way she dealt with scraps and thus her system for cutting, storing and using scraps evolved over the years and led to an Amazon #1 bestseller.  She will be bringing copies of her book for purchase.  You can visit her website at www.janelleamacbeth.com.
November 13, 2017 - Modern Quilt Guild - Learn More About the Modern Quilting Movement
      Kathy Dunkle, President of the Lancaster Modern Quilt Guild, will be speaking and the title of the presentation is "What is Modern Quilting?"  This presentation will look at what are the characteristics of modern quilting. We will also look at some modern quilters and their work a well as explore how to take traditional blocks and make them modern.  Kathy will also have modern books, patterns and fabric to sell
December 11, 2017 - Guild Holiday Party
     Members only party for an evening of fun, games (quilt bingo) and fabulous prizes!  There will be the traditional holiday 12 1/2" block exchange,  show 'n tell., and wonderful snacks.  Take a break from all the hustle and bustle of the season and enjoy a great time.  
January 8, 2018 - Round Robin Demonstrations
      Round Robin Demonstrations and Charity Project:  Guild members will be giving 15-20 minute demonstrations on Quilt Binding, Embellishment Beading, Paper Piecing, and Continuous Binding.  We will also be devoting time to one of our charity projects.  A Penn Oaks member has been making snacks bags for pediatric patients and their families at the Ronald McDonald House and we can give her a helping hand.  When you come to the November, December and January meeting, please bring any individually wrapped snack item such as cookies, crackers, small candy items, granola bars, pretzels, fruit snacks. In other words, something your children or grandchildren would like.  We can sit, relax, and chat while we help brighten a sick child's day ! 
February 12, 2018 - Penn Oaks Annual Quilt Challenge
      A not so much ugly but difficult to use fabric MUST have at least the equivalent of a 5" square used on the front of the challenge quilt.  You may cut that 5" square up and use it any way you like - just as long as at least 5' are used.  The finished quilt will be 16" x 24" and any theme.  Get your fat quarter of this fabric from the Challenge Chairperson at guild meeting for $1.00.
March 26, 2018 - Rose Morgan
Rose Morgan, a member of the Calico Cutters Quilt Guild, will be sharing her Creative Journey in the World of Quilting and her wonderful quilts. We will also be having our Silent Auction.
April 9, 2018 - Gail Kessler, of Lady Fingers Quilt Shop, Oley, PA. 
     She is an author, fabric designer and instructor.  Her topic is "From Concept to Cloth." Guest Fee: $10
May 14, 2018 - Sarah Bond, a Philadelphia area quilter and teacher. 
     Sarah's family history ... the quilts and quilters in her family before the Civil War up to the Civil Rights era.  She will share some of their quilts as well as some of her own.
June 11, 2018 - Joyce Hughes
     Joyce Hughes is an award winning quilter, lecturer and teacher.  She will speak of her quilting journey and thread painting
July 2018 - No meeting
August 12, 2018 - Summer Bee
